These sets usually comprise of a Transmitter, a Receiver, Servos, crystals, a switch, and battery box.They are available in many different types.

The amount of channels you use, will depend upon what you wish to control.
A model car would use 2 channels.
A model boat may use 2, 3, or 4 depending on what accessories you wish to operate, (for instance, adding working lights,)
An aircraft or helicopter would use anything between 3 and 8 channels.

  There are different frequencies used depending on whether you are a ground or air user. These frequencies vary from country to country.

In the UK, ground use is 27mhz or 40mhz and air use is 35mhz.
